Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB), in collaboration with the African Regional Intellectual Property Organisation (ARIPO) and the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) is hosting a workshop for collective management organisations (CMOs), content creators and digital platforms to address the emerging challenges of management of rights in the digital environment. As more creative content is distributed online, it is vital to ensure that right holders—authors, composers, performers, producers, and publishers—receive their due remuneration. The engagement will provide CMOs and content creators with the necessary training and capacity-building support to collaborate and leverage digital platforms effectively, and explore international best practices in the management of rights.
